The Inca Trail

Recently hiked the Inca Trail, a 26-mile (42-kilometer) hiking trail that leads to the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu. The trail is located in the Andes Mountains of Peru and is considered to be one of the most popular hiking trails in the world. Machu Picchu is one of the well known UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are over 1,100 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in over 160 countries. These sites are considered to be of outstanding universal value to humanity and are protected by international law. These sites are important because they represent the diversity of human culture and the natural world. The Inca Trail was built by the Incas in the 15th century. It was used by the Incas to travel to Machu Picchu and other important sites in the Andes Mountains. The trail is well-preserved and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
